Tiffany’s Goes Down Under

Recently we have been focusing on how to ‘Go Green’ with fashion, in term of the economic climate. But we aren’t the only ones struggling to preserve all the things we call beautiful and worth saving. That’s why Tiffany & Co. is shining amongst others in order to preserve parts of our Earth that are always worth saving. The reputable jewelry dealer, known for its magnificent jewels wrapped in baby blue boxes wrapped with white ribbon, is fighting to bring attention to the damages we are causing our coral reefs.

Starting at the end of summer, the boutique’s windows will follow a theme “Under The Sea” offering “a different hue- of the ocean floor. The topography of hills and valleys is shaped by glittering sand and bathed in deep blue, pristine white, lavender or turquoise. Gossamer fabric forms waves of color and bubbles swirl around vibrant coral shapes sculpted in resin.” Sounds breathtaking.

In 2002 the company discontinued selling coral jewelry, under taking their refusal in participating in the destruction of precious reefs. This project is to enhance the public’s attention to the dangers we pose to our ocean waters and to educate them about coral conservation. What better reasons do we have now than to have Breakfast at Tiffany’s, if not to drop a couple grand, at least to appreciate the beautifully detailed windows for a greater cause- and one as beautiful as this.
