It’s a love story like no other. Girl walking past Louis Vuitton store, Girl sees animated bear, bear eats Girl, Girl goes on psychedelic ride through Vuitton inspired logos and plush bears, Girl lands in a Vuitton trunk- literally- and falls in love with Gaston, the Vuitton luggage maker. Girl wakes up back on the street and sees Gaston.
It’s Vuitton’s short anime-film, Superflat First Love and it’s absolutely adorable. Not only does it toast Vuitton’s Spring 2009 line, Multicolore Spring Palette, but his 2002 collaboration with Marc Jacobs and Takashi Murakami. The line, filled with little bears and bright candy colors, has gone on to become such an international success that it only made sense to revive the colorful cartoons- and of course, make a short film. Now that’s one chromatic love affair, with Louis, Gaston, and little bears, oh my!
